Trustee Vacancies

The Nomination and Governance Committee of the Board of Governors is seeking candidates for appointment to the university boards of trustees.

Each state university has a 13-member Board of Trustees that has fiduciary responsibility for the oversight of university operations, establishing cost-effective policies or regulations consistent with Board of Governors’ regulations or guidelines, and implementing and maintaining high-quality education programs in accordance with the university’s mission.

Applicants who are selected for interviews are subject to an initial background check by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Each appointment is for a five-year term and is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate and participation in a trustee orientation and the Trustee Summit held every other year by the Board of Governors.
