State University System Celebrates Upcoming Graduates During Commencement Season

TALLAHASSEE, FL (April 28, 2025) – The State University System of Florida (SUS) celebrates and honors graduates during the upcoming spring 2025 commencement season. Thousands of students will cross the stage this spring, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys and celebrating years of perseverance, dedication, and achievement. SUS graduates are not only working towards a degree, but they are also preparing to acquire high-quality careers that address Florida’s workforce needs and advance the state’s economy. Each year, the SUS awards 100,000 degrees, with more than 30,000 in STEM fields.

“Commencement ceremonies are one of the most important traditions in higher education. This year’s graduates have demonstrated academic excellence, contributed to their universities and served their communities well,” said Chancellor Ray Rodrigues. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and know they are prepared for success in their future endeavors, whether that is beginning their career or continuing their higher education journey.”

“Congratulations to our Spring 2025 graduates. You set a goal and achieved it. Your relentless academic pursuits allowed you to emerge stronger, more innovative and better prepared to lead. Your legacy of scholarship, service and success has helped you overcome challenges and will inspire future generations of students for years to come,” said Brian Lamb, Chair of the Florida Board of Governors. “The faculty and staff at each of our universities also deserve special recognition as they produce world-class graduates who can fill critical positions within key industries.
