The Florida Board of Governors will hold a meeting at the University of Central Florida on June 27th and 28th. Highlights of the meeting agenda include:
Strategic Planning Committee
- Consider the approval of a new Program of Strategic Emphasis Tuition and Fee Waiver to replace Physics.
- Approve the 2024 university accountability plans based on the performance-based funding metrics and key performance indicators.
- Consider including Florida International University as a preeminent institution.
Academic and Student Affairs Committee
- Discuss the progress toward implementing the recommendations from the Civic Discourse Report approved by the Board in January 2022.
- Consider approval of an amendment to Regulations 8.009, Educational Sites, and 10.015, Institutes and Centers.
Audit and Compliance Committee
- Receive an update from the Inspector General and approve the Office of Inspector General and Director of Compliance 2024-2025 work plan.
Innovation and Online Committee
- Consider approval of the 2023 Annual Report for Online Education, which highlights the participation and performance of online students in the System.
Facilities Committee
- Approve the public notice of intent to amend Regulation 14.001, Construction Program Definitions, and Regulation 17.001, Lease Authority.
- Approve the 2024-25 university Capital Improvement Fee (CITF) Project allocations.
Budget and Finance Committee
- Consider the allocation of Performance-Based Funding and the $100 million in Performance-Based Recruitment and Retention funds for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
Nomination and Governance
- Consider University Board of Trustee selections and appointments.
Full Board
- Receive an update on the Florida Atlantic University presidential search.
- Present resolutions to President Avent of Florida Polytechnic University and Governors Jordan and Hitchcock.
The Board of Governors’ meeting will be streamed live on https://thefloridachannel.org/ with committee meetings scheduled to begin on June 27, 2024, at 9 a.m. The full Board meeting is scheduled to begin on June 28, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. Meeting times are subject to change.
