TALLAHASSEE, FL (February 1, 2024) – Black History Month is a time to honor and celebrate African Americans’ rich history and contributions.
“I encourage all students across the State University System of Florida to take time to celebrate Black History Month to recognize the achievements, resilience and impact African Americans have had on Florida and our nation through literature and participation in campus activities hosted at our institutions,” said Chancellor Ray Rodrigues. “To quote Booker T. Washington, former President of Tuskegee University, ‘Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.’”
