Board of Governors appoints trustees across the State University System
Today, the Board of Governors made the following appointments to the boards of trustees across the State University System. Appointees were selected from a competitive field of applicants and are subject to attending a Board of Governors’ orientation and the annual Trustee Summit, as well as confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Current vacancies:
· Ms. Kristin Harper was appointed to the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Board of Trustees to serve the remainder of the term expiring on January 6, 2021. She is the Global Vice President of Marketing for Cardinal Health.
· Mr. Earl Sasser was appointed to the Florida Polytechnic University Board of Trustees to serve the remainder of the term expiring on July 15, 2024. He is a former Baker Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School.
· Ms. Mary Ruiz was appointed to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees to serve the remainder of the term expiring on January 6, 2021. She is the CEO of Ruiz Strategic Advisors.
· Mr. Harold Mills was appointed to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees to serve the remainder of the term expiring on January 6, 2021. He is CEO of VMD Ventures.
Five-year terms beginning January 6, 2020:
· Ms. Nicole Washington was reappointed to the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Board of Trustees. She is the Principle of Washington Education Strategies, LLC.
· Ms. Elycia Morris was appointed to the Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees. She is the healthcare industry lead for Apple, Inc.
· Mr. Michael Dennis was reappointed to the Florida Atlantic University Board of Trustees. He is the founding Chair of the Advisory Board for the Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University.
· Mr. Ed Morton was appointed to the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees. He is a Principal and Managing Director of the investment firm Wasmer & Schroeder & Co.
· Ms. Jaye Semrod was appointed to the Florida Gulf Coast University Board of Trustees. She is the former Senior Vice President and General Manager for Jack Morton Productions.
· Ms. Donna Hrinak was appointed to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. She is Regional President of Latin America operations at The Boeing Company.
· Ms. Natasha Lowell was reappointed to the Florida International University Board of Trustees. She is Senior Vice President at First National Bank of South Miami.
· Mr. John Thiel was appointed to the Florida State University Board of Trustees. He is the former Vice Chairman of Global Wealth and Investment Management with Merrill Lynch.
· Mr. Bob Sasser was reappointed to the Florida State University Board of Trustees. He is Executive Chairman of Dollar Tree, Inc.
· Mr. Ronald Christaldi was appointed to the New College of Florida Board of Trustees. He is President/CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida LLC.
· Ms. Caryl McAlpin was appointed to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. She is a real-estate investor and developer.
· Mr. Michael Okaty was appointed to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees. He is a partner and business lawyer at Foley & Lardner LLP
· Ms. Anita Zucker was reappointed to the University of Florida Board of Trustees. She is Chair and CEO of The InterTech Group, Inc.
· Mr. David Lee Brandon was reappointed to the University of Florida Board of Trustees. He is President and CEO of Brandon Construction.
· Mr. Nik Patel was appointed to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees. He is the Information and Cyber Security Senior VP of Citigroup.
· Ms. Jill Davis was appointed to the University of North Florida Board of Trustees. She is the president of Ocean Pines, LLC.
· Ms. Sandra Callahan was appointed to the University of South Florida Board of Trustees. She is the former Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of TECO Energy, Inc.
· Mr. Michael Griffin was reappointed to the University of South Florida Board of Trustees. He is the senior managing director of Savills Occupier Services.
· Ms. Stephanie White was appointed to the University of West Florida Board of Trustees. She is an attorney specializing in adoption and child-related issues.
· Ms. Jill Singer was appointed to the University of West Florida Board of Trustees. She is the vice president of national security for AT&T.
