Ashley formerly served as economic development manager with Hillsborough County Economic Development where she oversaw innovation, entrepreneurship and technology initiatives within the department. Ashley also currently serves on USF CONNECT’s Council of Professionals and will continue to work closely with the council in her new role.
Ashley will be USF’s representative to the incubation industry, building and sustaining collaborations with professionals in the community to assist the development of the Tampa Bay Technology Incubator companies, according to a statement.
Her position also includes forging business partnerships with departments throughout the USF System to enhance research activities of faculty, staff and students, and promote and support best practices in business development and entrepreneurship.
Previously, Ashley worked with the Enterprise Development Corp. of South Florida, Jacksonville Economic Development Commission and Central South Carolina Alliance. “We are delighted to welcome Stephanie Ashley to USF,” said Paul R. Sanberg, senior vice president for research and innovation, in a statement. “Her background and experience will help us to move USF’s innovation programs to the next level, particularly in helping us deepen the strong relationships we already enjoy with the community.”
