Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine has its first practice in Broward County.
Two doctors and a clinical therapist from FIU are opening a multi-disciplinary outpatient psychiatric practice at Broward Health Medical Center, which is part of the public Broward Health system. The FIU faculty members are Dr. Leonard Gralnik and Dr. Christopher L. La Riche. There will be clinical support staff as well.
“This collaborative effort between FIU Health and Broward Health not only provides the South Florida community with a new option for first-rate medical care, but it also provides an educational venue for our third year medical students,” FIU College of Medicine Dean Dr. John Rock stated in a news release.
FIU is holding a grand opening on Friday at 2:30 for the practice, at 1600 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Suite 1090.
This is FIU’s second group practice, with the first being on its main campus in western Miami-Dade County. FIU plans to introduce other medical specialties to Broward in the coming months.
