UCF gets $314,491 grant to continue study of Huntington's disease

University of Central Florida was awarded a $314,491 grant from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for clinical research related to neurological disorders.
The grant will allow UCF to continue its study of mitochondrial fission in Huntington’s disease. A common symptom of the hereditary brain disorder is involuntary movements and mitochondrial fission in Huntington’s Disease is diagnosed in more than 1,500 Americans each year.
