Corporate Secretary to the Board of Governors
The Corporate Secretary for the Board of Governors is a senior staff member with wide-ranging responsibilities. She serves as the focal point for communication with the Board and senior management. She provides counsel to the Chancellor and Chair, as well as members of the Board, especially on governance issues.
Her duties may also include serving as the executive to assist Board members by providing information on the practices of other governing boards and helping to tailor governance principles and practices to fit the Boards needs and expectations.
Responsibilities vary from understanding the Boards operation and business thoroughly to having a basic knowledge of state and education laws.
The Corporate Secretary compiles and edits the official meeting minutes, maintains the Board records and helps to ensure compliance with regulations and rules.
