Carrie O'Rourke, Government Relations Associate Vice Chancellor
As the manager of the Board of Governor's legislative and government relations program, Carrie O'Rourke helps promote legislation of interest to the State University System's mission. She serves as the Board's spokesperson and liaison for all legislative issues and manages the Public Affairs staff.
Prior to joining the Board office in 2014 with an impressive background in state government, Carrie recently worked in the Governor's office as Director External Relations and as Deputy Chief of Staff. Prior to her government service, Carrie managed campaigns to foster external relationships and conflict management in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyz, and where she learned the languages of Russian, Uzbek, and Kyrgyz. Originally from Miami, Carrie earned her Master's in Public Administration from Rutgers University and her Bachelor's in Economics and Political Science from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia.
